Obasanjo Calls for Militant Church to Combat Bad Practices

Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo addressed Christians and Nigerians at the 50th convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, held at the church's headquarters in Olorunda, Ketu, Lagos. He called for a collective effort to combat bad practices that are detrimental to society, asserting that such practices are undermining the country's progress.

Obasanjo expressed his admiration for the convention's theme, “The Militant Church on Earth,” and explained that his military background informs his understanding of being militant as being zealous and active. He stated that if the church were more militant, the current situation in Nigeria would be significantly improved.

Obasanjo urged Christians to take action to fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to making Nigeria a prosperous nation, contrasting it with its current challenges of poverty and insecurity. Pastor Gabriel Uyeh, the immediate past chairman of TAC, LAWNA, introduced Obasanjo, highlighting his commitment to global emancipation.
