Obasanjo, Jonathan, Shettima Attend Soludo's Inauguration

Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, arrived at Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri for the inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo's second term. The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, where Soludo's deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Gilbert Ibezim, was also sworn in.

Pre-inauguration activities began on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with an interdenominational service held at the International Convention Centre in Awka, which celebrated the conclusion of Soludo's first term and sought divine blessings for his new term. A thanksgiving mass is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2026, at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral.

Security measures were intensified across the state, with law enforcement agents deployed to ensure a smooth event.
