Obasanjo, Jonathan to Open National Assembly Christian Chapel

Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan are set to inaugurate the National Assembly Christian Chapel in Abuja on March 1. This announcement was made in a statement co-signed by Ladi Adebutu, the President of the Christian Legislators Fellowship in the Senate.

The chapel, which has a capacity of 750, is expected to host dignitaries including the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, among others. The dedication of the chapel is viewed as a significant milestone for the Christian community within the National Assembly, representing a new chapter in strengthening spiritual fellowship among Christian legislators and staff.

The event is anticipated to attract prominent Nigerian leaders and policymakers, fostering unity and moral reflection among members of the legislative community. The chapel project was conceived in May 2019 during the tenure of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
