Obasanjo Library Gives EFCC Seven Days To Pay ₦2.5 Billion

The Obasanjo Library has given the EFCC seven days to pay ₦2.5 billion following a raid by EFCC operatives at a relaxation facility within the library complex. The raid disrupted business activities and caused reputational and financial damage to the institution.

The library management accused the EFCC of storming the facility during a popular event, leading to chaos and the arrest of 93 youths and seizure of vehicles and mobile devices. The library is demanding a public apology from the EFCC Chairman and the Police, threatening legal action if the demand is not met by August 20, 2025.

The library's Legal Adviser claimed that the EFCC's use of live ammunition during the operation violated the constitutional rights of guests and staff present. The incident has sparked public debate on transparency and accountability in law enforcement operations involving institutions.
