Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Threatens Legal Action Against EFCC Over Raid on Wet & Rave Party

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a raid on its premises during the Wet & Rave Splash Extravaganza party. The raid, which led to the arrest of 93 youths and seizure of 18 vehicles and mobile devices, was described as an unlawful invasion of private property by the OOPL management.

The Managing Director of OOPL Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, stated that the EFCC operatives arrived without a warrant, discharged firearms, and caused panic and injuries among attendees. Despite prior notification to the police about the private event, the EFCC agents reportedly refused to provide details and insisted on carrying out their operation.

The OOPL management has threatened legal action against the EFCC if a satisfactory explanation and apology are not provided for the disruption and harm caused during the raid. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
