OOPL Demands Apology, N3.5bn Over Invasion Of Premises By EFCC Operatives

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) has demanded a public apology and N3.5 billion in restitution from the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Inspector General of Police. This demand comes after the alleged illegal invasion of the OOPL premises by EFCC operatives on August 10, 2025.

OOPL Managing Director, Vitalis Ortese, stated that the invasion was a calculated attempt to oppress, brutalize, and violate the fundamental rights of the 100 guests present. OOPL has instructed their lawyers to take legal action if the demands are not met within 7 days.

Ortese emphasized the importance of accountability, institutional respect, and protection of rights, as the OOPL symbolizes national pride and serves as a sanctuary for learning and culture.
