Obasanjo Advocates for NOUN Reform and Law Program Revival

On Friday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo urged for reforms at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), emphasizing the need to restore its law program and increase student enrollment. He made these remarks during the official introduction of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Uduma Orji Uduma, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Obasanjo highlighted the importance of academic advancement and the integration of innovative technologies, urging university leadership to prioritize modernization and expand access to education. The former Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peter, noted that the university has already taken significant steps towards integrating artificial intelligence into its academic content and has earned several recognitions from international educational bodies.

Currently, NOUN has approximately 300,000 registered students, with around 190,000 actively engaged. Professor Uduma committed to sustaining innovative advancements and reviving the law program as part of ongoing reforms, thanking Obasanjo for his continued support in the institution's growth.
