Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma Assumes Office as NOUN Vice Chancellor, Unveils Six-Point Agenda

Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma has officially taken over as the new Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), succeeding Prof.

Olufemi Ayind Peter. Uduma outlined a six-point agenda focusing on strengthening study centers, enhancing learner support systems, improving ICT infrastructure, ensuring exam integrity, promoting staff welfare, and sustaining quality assurance standards.

He emphasized the institution's mission of democratizing access to quality higher education. Uduma acknowledged the influx of young learners in the open and distance learning system and stressed the need for a balanced approach between flexibility and academic discipline.

The handover ceremony featured the symbolic presentation of the university seal and senat gavel. Prof.

Chiedu Mafiana praised the outgoing VC for ensuring NOUN gained global recognition in open and distance learning. Mr.

Oladipo Ajayi welcomed Uduma as the new VC, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the institution forward.
