Obi and Kwankwaso in Talks to Join NDC for 2027 Ticket

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, are reportedly engaged in secret discussions regarding a potential alliance with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 presidential election. High-level negotiations suggest a significant political realignment among opposition figures aiming to unify against the current political status quo.

Abdulmumin Abdulsalam, the NDC's deputy public secretary, confirmed the ongoing talks and noted the party's strong interest in hosting both politicians. The NDC is preparing to offer a presidential ticket to Obi and Kwankwaso, which would solidify a formidable front against their opponents.

Abdulsalam emphasized that the NDC is open to welcoming state leaders unless otherwise dictated. The NDC had previously received interest from Obi and Kwankwaso regarding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) a month ago, indicating a broader strategy for political collaboration amidst current uncertainties.
