Bwala Defends Olayinka Over Arise News Interview Snub

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, defended Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, after Olayinka declined to answer questions during an interview on Arise News. The interview was abruptly ended when Olayinka refused to respond to TV anchor Rufai Oseni, stating, “I don’t want to answer any question from you Oseni Rufai.

I want this conversation to be among reasonable human beings.” Another anchor, Mario Esse, indicated that the interview would not continue without Olayinka answering Oseni's question. Bwala criticized Oseni and Esse for allegedly attempting to promote the narrative of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

He accused them of double standards and blackmail, asserting that their lack of objectivity would hinder their ability to push Obi's agenda in the upcoming election cycle. Bwala expressed gratitude to Olayinka for holding the journalists accountable.
