Presidency Accuses Arise TV of Favoring Peter Obi

The presidency has made accusations against Arise Television, alleging that the media outlet exhibits preferential treatment towards Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress. Daniel Bwala, who serves as the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, expressed these concerns in a post on his 𝕏 handle on Monday.

Bwala stated that presenters on Arise Television often express strong opinions about other political candidates but take a notably different approach when discussing Peter Obi. He claimed that discussions about Obi resemble surrogates advising their principal, suggesting a lack of critical coverage.

Bwala further asserted that since Obi became a presidential candidate, Arise Television has not aired any trending reports that could be considered adverse to him. He questioned the station's editorial stance, highlighting a perceived bias in their reporting.
