Delta Governor Oborevwori Approves 13th-Month Salary

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved a 13th-month salary for civil servants, along with a threefold increase in cash prizes for outstanding public servants. This announcement was made during the 2026 Public Service Week dinner held in Asaba.

The event served as an opportunity to celebrate excellence and review the progress of public service, with a focus on inspiring greater productivity. Governor Oborevwori emphasized that reforms succeed when workers are properly motivated and supported, reaffirming his pro-worker stance.

He noted that there are 60,000 workers under his administration and highlighted the importance of addressing welfare concerns promptly. The governor also disclosed plans for the completion of a permanent secretariat and the commissioning of an internal road.

Dr. Mininim Oseji, the state head of service, commended the governor for his support and urged civil servants to embrace ongoing reforms.

Awards were presented to outstanding civil servants, including Mr. Abuga Denni, named best civil servant, and Mr.

Reuben Udolu, recognized for punctuality.
