Delta Governor Commits ₦8bn to Hinterland Development

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has announced a commitment of ₦8 billion aimed at enhancing infrastructure in hinterland communities to facilitate the movement of people and agricultural products. This initiative was disclosed by Comrade Reuben Izez during an inspection of the project in Isoko South Local Government Area.

The project involves the reconstruction of a 4.35-kilometer road, including the rehabilitation of failed culverts and sections, as well as the construction of a new 100-span bridge. Currently, the project is reported to be 60% complete.

Izez emphasized the importance of this project for rural dwellers, particularly women who face daily transportation challenges. He also noted that the governor's commitment reflects an equitable governance vision, aiming to benefit all residents of Delta State.

Concerns were raised regarding potential disruptions from local families, with warnings issued about legal repercussions for obstructing development efforts.
