Delta Governor Demotes Aide After NYG Disappointment

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, demoted his Executive Assistant, Mr. Festus Owhojero, following Delta's poor performance at the National Youth Games (NYG) where they were dethroned by Lagos State.

The Governor expressed disappointment and summoned an emergency meeting to address the failure. The state had consistently held the top position in the NYG for the past eight editions.

Sources revealed that the Governor directed officials to prepare a detailed report on the games. The demotion came as a result of the state's unexpected second-place finish, deemed unacceptable by the Governor and sports enthusiasts in Delta State.
