Ododo Launches APC Peace Committee Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee, which comprises 17 members and is headed by former Governor Capt Idris Ichala Wada. During the inauguration at the Lugard House, Ododo urged the committee to reconcile aggrieved party members, restore unity, and strengthen the APC in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized the importance of dialogue and reconciliation over violence in resolving political differences. Ododo recalled his outreach to political leaders across various backgrounds after becoming the APC candidate in the 2023 governorship election, highlighting the need for inclusiveness.

He expressed confidence that the APC could achieve stronger performance in 2027 if members remain united. Additionally, he acknowledged the support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for Kogi State, citing significant projects like the Kogi International Airport and Ajaokuta Economic City, and urged continued support for Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
