PDP Accuses Kwara Governor of Politicizing Offa Robbery

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Governor of Kwara State of politicizing the Offa robbery case to target former Senate President Bukola Saraki. Olusegun Adewara, the PDP's public secretary, stated that the governor's recent actions are politically motivated, following Saraki's criticism of the state government's handling of insecurity.

The PDP emphasized that the Offa robbery case had already been thoroughly investigated by law enforcement, with no evidence linking Saraki to the incident, as confirmed by two separate legal advisories in 2018. The party condemned the governor's attempt to use the tragedy for political gain, calling it insensitive and trivializing the suffering of the victims' families.

They urged residents of Offa to resist any political manipulation regarding the case and warned that such developments could heighten political tension in the state. The PDP called on security agencies to closely monitor the situation to ensure peace and stability in Kwara State.
