Saraki Criticizes Kwara Governor Over Offa Robbery Charges

Former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki has publicly criticized Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for initiating new criminal charges related to the 2018 Offa robbery incident, which resulted in 33 fatalities, including a pregnant woman and 12 police officers. Saraki described the governor's actions as a "dirty political move" and warned him to cease using the Offa robbery incident as a political weapon.

The Kwara State Government filed 20 counts against Saraki and former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, alleging their involvement in the robbery. Saraki noted that previous investigations by the Director of Public Prosecution and the Attorney General of the Federation found no evidence linking him to the robbery.

He accused the governor of attempting to resurrect baseless charges for political gain and urged him to focus on improving security in the state instead of pursuing what he termed frivolous legal actions. Saraki's legal team plans to respond to these charges in court.
