Boko Haram Attack Claims Lives of Four Police Officers

On April 4, at approximately 1 AM, Boko Haram terrorists launched a coordinated attack on the Nganzai police station in Borno State, targeting the police division headquarters. ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso reported that the attack was met with fierce resistance from the police and a special crack squad, successfully repelling the assault.

The terrorists utilized rocket-propelled grenades and other sophisticated weapons, causing partial damage to the police station and burning an unserviceable armored personnel carrier. Tragically, four police personnel lost their lives during this incident.

Additionally, at around 2:40 AM, a separate attack occurred at the Malam Fatori IDP camp in Damasak, resulting in the deaths of 40 members of the CJTF and the destruction of 20 thatched houses. CP Naziru Abdulmajid announced the deployment of additional manpower and operational assets to strengthen security in the affected areas and prevent further attacks.

He commended the bravery of the officers and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
