OGLABOT Urges Ogun Government to Develop Border Communities

The Ogun-Lagos Border Towns Development Group (OGLABOT) has urged the Ogun State Government to focus on the development of communities along its border with Lagos. This call was made during an engagement with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State.

OGLABOT presented a development document outlining the needs of these border communities, developed through consultations with residents and stakeholders. The group noted that the rapid expansion of these towns has increased pressure on infrastructure and public services, including roads, housing, and healthcare.

OGLABOT Coordinator Simeon Olu Okeowo emphasized the importance of ensuring that the voices of border community residents are heard in state development plans. The group highlighted Tongeji Island as an area with significant economic potential that requires better transportation links.

Other members, including Hon Deji Olatunya and Pastor Abel Fadebi, reiterated the need for practical interventions to address the challenges faced by these communities.
