Abiodun Welcomes OGD, Kashamu Allies to APC in Ogun

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun welcomed members of the Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) political family and the Buruji Kashamu political group into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a meeting at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta. He described their decision as a significant step towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Abiodun commended the groups for aligning with the APC, advocating for political actors to unite rather than support different parties. However, he expressed concern over the relaunch of Daniel's foundation, which featured Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the PDP governorship candidate, suggesting Daniel's choice to operate outside the APC.

Abiodun acknowledged his respect for Daniel as a former governor and reflected on his political journey, emphasizing the responsible use of political power. He recalled being advised against supporting Daniel's candidacy for the APC senatorial position but chose to honor him, believing that political disagreements should not diminish respect for former officeholders.
