Yayi Forum Defends Sen. Adeola's Ancestry Amid Criticism

The Yayi Intellectual Forum, a socio-political group in Ogun State, condemned opposition parties for politicizing the ancestral lineage of All Progressive Congress gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.

The convener, Hon. Wale Bello, stated that political campaigns should focus on issues rather than unfounded attacks on Adeola's identity, which he described as a reflection of opponents' anxiety over the senator's growing popularity.

Bello referenced past controversies surrounding prominent political figures in Ogun State, such as former governors Chief Olusegun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, whose ancestries were ultimately validated. He noted that traditional leaders, including the Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, and the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, have publicly confirmed Adeola's ancestry.

Bello urged opposition parties to redirect their efforts towards engaging the electorate with credible policies instead of disputing Adeola's identity.
