Ogun Assembly to Review 2026 Budget Performance Starting August

The Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Finance and Appropriation, will commence the appraisal of the 2026 budget performance for ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) on Monday, August 31, 2026. This exercise will assess the second quarter of the budget, covering January to June, and will continue until Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Daily sessions will begin at 10:00 am. According to a statement from the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, this exercise is part of the constitutional responsibilities of the legislative arm, aimed at evaluating the compliance of MDAs with the State 2026 Appropriation Law.

The goal is to ensure value for government resources in policy and project implementation. All heads of MDAs are required to submit relevant documents and attend the appraisal sessions as per the schedule provided to them.
