Ogun State Approves Major Housing and Road Projects

The Ogun State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, approved various housing and road projects to boost development. Kayode Akinmade, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced the construction of 450 affordable two-bedroom semi-detached houses and 28 new official quarters for members of the State House of Assembly.

Additionally, 28 duplexes for public sale will be developed at the Ibara Government Reservation Area (GRA) Scheme II, alongside the reconstruction of the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. These initiatives are part of the state's affordable housing programme aimed at improving access to decent accommodation and stimulating economic activity.

The Council also approved the reconstruction of key roads, including the Okun-Owa–Ijebu-Ode Road and the Ago-Iwoye–Ijebu-Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, to enhance connectivity and support commercial activities. Furthermore, the Council recognized and upgraded several traditional stools to strengthen traditional governance.
