Ogun Butcher Selim Ayodele Arrested for Colleague's Murder

Selim Ayodele, a 21-year-old butcher, was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the stabbing death of his colleague, Ibrahim Wasiu, aged 26. The incident occurred last Sunday at the Alagbole meat market following a disagreement over sweeping the floor.
According to a statement from Police Public Relations Officer Oluseyi Babaseyi, Ayodele recounted that after finishing their work, Wasiu initiated a fight, during which he picked up a knife. Ayodele managed to take the knife from Wasiu but, after being wounded during the altercation, he stabbed Wasiu in the neck.
Ayodele later reported himself to the police station. Wasiu was rushed to Life Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
His remains were deposited at Life Channel Private Mortuary in Lambe, Ajuwon, for autopsy. Ayodele is currently in police custody as investigations continue ahead of prosecution.
