Ogun Community Faces Severe Power Outages, Residents Lament

Residents and business owners in Arigbawo Community, located in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, have expressed frustration over months of poor electricity supply. They reported that power outages have become increasingly irregular, with electricity sometimes unavailable for weeks or months, only to be restored for a few hours.

This situation has forced many to rely on generators and solar energy, significantly increasing their expenses. Mrs Oyegoke stated that despite repeated complaints through the Community Development Association, no effective solutions have been implemented.

Titi mentioned that the unreliable power supply has led some residents to contemplate relocating, as reliable electricity was a key factor in their decision to move to the area. Business owners, including Mrs Okorie, have adopted solar energy to maintain operations, citing that they can go up to three months without power.

Previous complaints have resulted in temporary improvements, but the situation has ultimately worsened.
