Ogun Communities Demand Action on Bad Roads and Power Outage

Residents from 16 communities under four Community Development Councils (CDCs) in the Odeda Local Government Area (LGA) of Ogun State have raised concerns regarding the deplorable state of roads and a three-month power blackout. The affected communities include Ilupeju Bode Olude, Bode Olude, Abusi Edumare, and Harmony CDCs.

Mogaji Ayoola Taiwo, a former CDC Chairman in Bode-Olude, stated that the access road linking the Community Development Associations (CDAs) has been in poor condition for many years, despite past promises from former governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun to rehabilitate it. Residents have written letters to the current administration without receiving any response.

Taiwo highlighted the economic impact of the bad roads, which have led to increased transport fares, and noted that many residents cannot afford to install solar power systems due to the prolonged electricity outage. The communities are urging Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola to intervene and help improve their infrastructure.
