Ogun State Hosts Workshop on New Building Regulations

The Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, led by Commissioner Olatunji Odunlami, organized a two-day workshop to address newly approved planning and building regulations. The workshop aimed to enhance compliance among professionals in the built environment, as persistent lapses in adherence to regulations have contributed to delays and increased costs in project approvals.

Odunlami emphasized the importance of the workshop for knowledge exchange among regulatory practitioners, urging active participation to align practices with regulatory expectations. The workshop also highlighted the need for professionals to be aware of the Ogun State Building and Construction Code 2025 and the implications of the five regulations enacted in 2022.

The ministry aims to refine processes to manage the state's physical development effectively and address emerging challenges. Participants were encouraged to uphold professional standards and support government initiatives to improve service delivery across the sector.
