Ogun Monarch Calls for Unity in Community Development

Oba Ibitoy Solaja, the monarch of Atikori Kingdom in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, called on all indigenes, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to unite for the development of their community. During an interview at the palace, he highlighted that the progress of Atikori Kingdom relies on the collective commitment and contributions of its people.

He noted that the community has produced distinguished professionals across various fields, including a notable vice chancellor, medical doctors, engineers, architects, successful entrepreneurs, and accomplished writers. The Oba urged every indigene to remain committed to the kingdom's development, leveraging their knowledge and resources.

He also appealed to the Ogun State government to invest in infrastructure and public facilities in the kingdom, which hosts significant institutions like Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic and the Nigerian Correctional Service Academy. Oba Solaja expressed gratitude for the peace and development experienced during his 25 years on the throne and disclosed that activities to mark his silver jubilee will include the inauguration of community projects and a thanksgiving service.
