Ogundinran Wins Women's 100m Title at Trials

Bless Ogundinran emerged as Nigeria's new women's 100 meters champion at the Commonwealth Games trials held in Lagos, finishing the final with a time of 11.12 seconds. She expressed her composure during the race, recalling her coach's advice to execute the race without panic.

Ezechukwu, a teenage sensation, achieved a personal best of 11.15 seconds to secure second place, while Olajid Olayinka finished third with a time of 11.28 seconds. In the men's shot put, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi claimed the title for the fifth time, launching the shot put 21.46 meters, further solidifying his dominance in the event.

The trials also featured other events, with athletes like Oyesad Oyetayo winning the hammer throw with a mark of 65.07 meters. The men's 100 meters final is scheduled for Wednesday, with several athletes having advanced from the semifinals.
