Adebo Ogundoyin, who holds the title of the youngest Speaker in the history of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has officially announced his candidacy for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election. This announcement was made on March 29, 2026, after receiving unanimous endorsement from PDP stakeholders in his home zone of Ibarapaland. Ogundoyin emphasized the importance of youth representation and aims to combine legislative experience with a forward-looking development agenda. His campaign will focus on accelerating economic growth, expanding infrastructure, and improving education. He outlined plans to strengthen institutions and consolidate the gains of the current administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde. Ogundoyin has engaged in extensive consultations across Oyo State, meeting with traditional rulers, party leaders, and grassroots mobilizers in various local government areas, including Ibarapa, Ogbomoso, and Ibadan. The formal endorsement of his candidacy was supported by PDP state deputy chairman Wasiu Adeleke, who praised Ogundoyin's strategic engagement across party levels.
