Seun Ogunsakin Wins First Match at 2026 US Open Juniors

Seun Ogunsakin, a rising tennis talent from Aurum Tennis Academy, achieved a significant milestone by winning his first qualifying match at the 2026 US Open Junior Tennis Championships. He defeated Poland’s Tymon Litwic with a score of 6-3, 6-0, securing his place in the final round of the qualifiers.

The 14-year-old is set to compete against Canada’s Felix Roussel in the next round. This event marks Ogunsakin's participation in his third consecutive Grand Slam, following his appearances at the Roland Garros Junior Championships and Wimbledon Juniors.

Notably, he reached the main draw of the boys’ singles at Wimbledon and advanced to the semi-finals of the doubles event, marking a historic run in the UK. The US Open Junior Championships feature 64 players in each singles draw and 32 teams in each doubles event, with the singles qualifying tournaments consisting of 32 players competing for six berths in the main draws.

The main draw will take place from September 6 to September 12, 2026.
