Oluwaseun Ogunsakin Exits US Open in Second Round

Nigeria’s Oluwaseun Ogunsakin's run at the US Open Junior Championships concluded in the second round, where he was defeated by South Africa’s Connor Doig with scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. The match took place at Flushing Meadows, where Doig initially dominated, winning the first set 6-2.

Ogunsakin made a strong comeback, taking the second set 6-4, but ultimately lost the deciding set 6-3. This tournament marked a significant achievement for Ogunsakin, who had to qualify to enter the main draw, defeating Poland’s Tymon Litwic 6-3, 6-0 and top seed Felix Roussel of Canada 6-3, 6-4.

He also secured his first Grand Slam main-draw victory against 15th seed Kuan-Shou Chen of Chinese Taipei, winning 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. Ogunsakin's participation in the US Open followed his appearances at the French Open and Wimbledon earlier in the year, showcasing his rapid development in junior tennis.
