Ohanaeze Ndigbo Backs South-East Ex-Governors’ Forum

Ohanaeze Ndigbo has officially backed the newly formed South-East Ex-Governors’ Forum, which is led by Engr. David Umahi. The organization aims to promote infrastructure and economic growth in the South-East region.

Ohanaeze noted that the forum will support collaboration with current governors and the federal government to address the development challenges facing the region. They dismissed criticisms that the forum might create divisions among the Igbo people, reaffirming their commitment to work with the federal government to advance the interests of the Igbo community.

Ohanaeze also urged the forum to include former governors from Delta and Rivers states, who are part of the Igbo-speaking community, and suggested renaming the body to reflect broader inclusivity. Furthermore, Ohanaeze commended the members who attended the inaugural meeting in Enugu and called for broader participation to strengthen unity among Igbo leaders.

The forum has endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, aligning with the interests of the South-East Igbo people.
