Lagos Issues Seven-Day Ultimatum to Ojo Hospital Encroachers

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Informal Space Management Authority (LASISMA), has given a seven-day notice to traders and illegal occupants around the newly constructed Ojo General Hospital to vacate road setbacks and spaces reserved for public infrastructure. This ultimatum was announced during a sensitization and enforcement exercise conducted on Monday along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, near the LASU-Iba Road Junction.

TPL Daisi Oso, the General Manager of LASISMA, emphasized that the encroachment has compromised the hospital's accessibility and public health. The area has been overtaken by illegal activities, including refuse dumping, unauthorized markets, and shanties.

Oso warned that continued occupation could hinder emergency access to the hospital. The operation initially focused on persuasion and notification, with contravention notices served to illegal occupants, allowing a seven-day compliance period before further enforcement actions are taken.
