OK Movement Affirms Ughulu as DG, Rejects NDC Merger

The Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement has officially rejected any plans to replace its founder and Director-General, Mr John Ughulu, affirming his leadership during a National Leadership Summit on August 26, 2026, at K-Class Hotel, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. The summit's communiqué, signed by key leaders including Barr.

Oladipo Johnson, Prince Suleiman Abubakar, Mrs Oluwatoyin Lanihun, and Saadatu Mohammed Sani, emphasized Ughulu's pivotal role in establishing the organization from the grassroots level. The leadership stated that the loyalty of grassroots members is tied to Ughulu's personal credibility rather than a title.

Additionally, the Movement ruled out any merger with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) or other political entities, citing the importance of maintaining its identity and grassroots structure. The communiqué also invited Ms Jacky Wayas to return as Director for Strategic Implementation and Planning to promote unity within the organization.
