Okonkwo Claims Plot to Destabilize ADC Amid Leadership Crisis

Okonkwo has alleged a plot to destabilize the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a leadership crisis intensifies within the party. Rival factions are exchanging accusations regarding the legitimacy of party leadership, with a significant court order from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the center of the conflict.

Okonkwo argues that legal challenges against the party's leadership question the claims of those behind the suit, while maintaining that INEC's recognition of the leadership led by former Senate President David Mark remains valid. The appeal court's directive to maintain the status quo is interpreted by Okonkwo as a means to preserve the current leadership arrangement.

Bashir Abdul Moham, the ADC's national publicity secretary, described the crisis as self-inflicted and rooted in unlawful takeover attempts. He insists that Nafiu Bala remains the legitimate acting chairman of the party, rejecting claims made by the opposing faction and warning INEC of potential contempt proceedings for failing to comply with court directives.
