Afenifere Criticizes Edo Governor Okpebholo's Leadership

Akin Fapohunda, the Director of Research for the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, criticized Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo during an interview on Symfoni TV released on Monday. Fapohunda accused Okpebholo of exhibiting a "village mentality" and following the political strategies of former governor Adam Oshiomhole.

He drew parallels between Okpebholo's political behavior and that of the late Ibadan strongman Lamidi Adedibu, who wielded significant political influence in Oyo State. Fapohunda expressed concern over the current political climate, urging former presidential candidate Peter Obi to take action to protect against the rising political violence in the country.

He emphasized that Okpebholo's actions are reminiscent of Adedibu's influence, suggesting that political unrest could escalate if not addressed. Fapohunda's remarks highlight the ongoing tensions in Nigerian politics and the need for protective measures against potential violence.
