Edo Governor Launches Army Recruitment Drive Amid Low Applications

Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo has launched a recruitment drive for the Nigerian Army, responding to the low number of applications received in the state. As of now, only 291 applications have been submitted, while the target is between 300 and 400 slots.

The governor met with an army delegation at the Government House in Benin City on Wednesday to kick off a state-wide sensitization campaign as part of a nationwide recruitment exercise that runs from March 30 to May 17, aiming to gather 38,000 applications across Nigeria. Okpebholo's administration has already begun publicizing the recruitment process and intensifying outreach efforts in local government areas.
