Edo Governor Partners with Army to Combat Kidnapping

Edo State Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed the state's strategic partnership with the Nigerian Army in the fight against kidnapping and criminal activities during a courtesy visit from Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, the Corps Commander. The meeting took place at the Government House in Benin City, where Okpebholo acknowledged the army's efforts in producing measurable results and commended the gallantry and sacrifices of soldiers engaged in anti-kidnapping operations.

He assured the army of continued support, particularly in strengthening operational bases and establishing strategic locations to enhance rapid response and surveillance. Additionally, the governor addressed the challenges posed by flooding in the state, which affects the army's school supplies and transport.

Major General Shagaya expressed gratitude for the governor's support and pledged the army's commitment to sustaining peace and stability in Edo State and across the country. He also appealed for government intervention to address persistent flooding in areas like Isihor and Ugbowo.
