Dr. David Olufu Condemns Terror Attacks in Benue State

Dr. David Olufu, a senator aspirant representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed strong condemnation regarding the recent terror attacks in the Benue community, specifically in Ankpali and Edikwu, located in the Apa Local Government Area.

These attacks, suspected to be carried out by Fulani herdsmen, have resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens, particularly farmers. In a press statement issued in Otukpo on Monday, Olufu described the killings as barbaric and unacceptable.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the menace that has become a recurring issue across various communities in Benue South, including Agatu, Otukpo, Ohimini, Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo, and Oju. Olufu emphasized that the government has a primary constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property, urging all levels of government to take immediate and decisive action to prevent further escalations.

He extended condolences to the families of the victims and urged community members to remain calm and united in seeking solutions.
