Olubadan Ladoja Mourns Chief Lekan Alabi's Passing

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, expressed profound sorrow over the death of Chief Lekan Alabi, the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, who died on Saturday morning in Lagos at the age of 76. Chief Alabi was a veteran journalist and served as press secretary to multiple former governors of Oyo State.

In a statement released by his media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, Ladoja reminisced about their childhood in the same Born Photo Isale-Osi neighborhood in Ibadan, highlighting Alabi's impressive memory and storytelling ability. Ladoja praised Alabi for his significant contributions to journalism and public relations, noting that he was a staunch advocate for Ibadan's customs and traditions.

He recalled Alabi's punctuality and active participation in traditional matters during Ladoja's tenure as acting Chairman of the Ibadan South East Traditional Council. Ladoja described Alabi's passing as "devastating and heartbreaking," offering prayers for the repose of his soul and comfort for his family.
