Ombugadu Resigns from PDP Amid Leadership Crisis

Dr. Emmanuel David Ombugadu, a former governorship candidate and two-term member of the House of Representatives, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

His resignation letter, dated February 28, 2026, was directed to Ikka Wangibi, the PDP chairman of the ward in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area. Ombugadu attributed his decision to unresolved internal disputes and a prolonged leadership crisis within the PDP.

Despite his departure, he expressed gratitude for the platform the PDP provided him to serve the people of Nasarawa State throughout his political career. Ombugadu's political journey began with the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011, where he was elected to represent the Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

He later joined the PDP, successfully securing a second term in office.
