Ombugadu Returns to PDP, Plans for 2027 Elections

David Ombugadu, a former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State during the 2019 elections, recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) but returned to the PDP just a week later. He cited marginalization and a lack of opportunity within the APC as reasons for his departure.

Ombugadu expressed his intent to contest the 2027 governorship election on the PDP platform, emphasizing his commitment to improving the lives of the people in the state. He outlined his achievements in areas such as water, employment, and health during his previous tenure as a member of the House of Representatives.

Additionally, he announced plans to contest the bye-election for the Nasarawa North senatorial district, which is set for 2026, while also seeking support from the citizens of Nasarawa State to ensure his success in the upcoming elections. Francis Orogwu, the PDP national vice chairman for North Central, urged the people of the state to support Ombugadu.
