Ombugadu Resigns from PDP Amid Leadership Crisis

Ombugadu has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal conflicts and leadership crises that have created uncertainty within the party. In a letter addressed to the ward chairman of PDP Ika Wangibi Ward in Nasarawa Eggon LGA, Ombugadu expressed his gratitude to the party for the platform it provided to serve the country and state.

He indicated that the decision to leave was difficult but necessary due to the ongoing internal struggles within the PDP, which have led to the emergence of two factions and a lack of a clear political path. Despite his resignation, PDP stakeholders in Lafia, Nasarawa State, are urging Ombugadu to consider re-contesting in the 2027 governorship elections.

His sudden departure from the party has changed the political dynamics, although he has not yet disclosed his next political move. Sources suggest that he may seek to contest either the Nasarawa North Senate seat or the governorship election in 2027 under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
