Ombugadu's Resignation from PDP Regrettable, Says Umar

Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu announced his resignation from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Ikka Wangibi Ward in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, effective February 28, 2026.

The PDP's Deputy National Public Secretary, Hajiya Farida Umar, expressed deep regret over Ombugadu's departure, emphasizing the party's commitment to its political family and the significant time and effort invested in their electoral journey. Umar acknowledged the pain of losing a member but reiterated the party's resilience and dedication to its ideological structure and grassroots support.

She stated that no individual’s resignation could derail the party's progress and future ambitions, particularly with the upcoming 2027 elections in focus. Umar called for unity and calm among party members during this challenging period, highlighting Ombugadu's political career that began with the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011 and his subsequent joining of the PDP in 2014.
