Troops Kill 65 Terrorists, Rescue 31 Worshippers in Kaduna

On Easter Day, Nigerian troops conducted a major offensive in Zamfara State, killing 65 terrorists and rescuing 31 worshippers abducted during an Easter service in Kaduna State. The operation targeted the camp of notorious bandit leader Ado Alero in Tsafe Local Government Area, where troops engaged in a fierce seven-hour battle, beginning at 6:00 PM.

The troops, supported by precise airstrikes, overwhelmed Alero's heavily armed fighters, resulting in significant casualties, including the death of Alero's son, Kachalla Iliya Sarki. Following the operation, Alero fled to Yankuzu Town, and the Nigerian Army continues to pursue remnants of his group.

Additionally, in Kaduna, troops responded to a distress call and engaged terrorists who had stormed a church, successfully rescuing 31 hostages, although five people were killed in the attack. The military's actions mark a significant setback for banditry in the northwest region.
