Nigerian Air Force Recovers Cockpit Voice Recorder from Crash

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully recovered the Cockpit Voice Recorder from its ATR-42 aircraft that crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, announced that technical teams from the NAF and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) confirmed the recorder's intact condition.
Additionally, part of the Flight Data Recorder, commonly referred to as the black box, has been retrieved, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining portion. The recovery operation has also led to the retrieval of additional aircraft wreckage, engine components, and human remains.
Ejodame emphasized the challenges posed by the swampy terrain and the careful handling of human remains during the recovery process. The NAF is maintaining communication with the victims' families and addressing environmental concerns raised by the local community.
Ejodame urged patience from the public, stressing the importance of thorough investigation to enhance flight safety and protect lives.
