Ondo APC Members Protest Against Candidate Imposition

On Friday, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State staged a protest against the alleged plan by the state party leadership to impose an unknown candidate for the House of Assembly ahead of the upcoming primaries. Protesters gathered at Araromi Obu, expressing their grievances through songs and placards that called for respect for democracy and transparency in candidate selection.

Dayo Akinro, a local party leader, emphasized that the alleged imposition could harm the party's chances in the general elections and appealed to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for intervention. He warned that such actions do not reflect the party's principles of equity and justice.

In response, Steve Otaloro, the APC state director of media and publicity, dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating that the primaries had not yet been conducted and that discussions were ongoing to gather input from party members across the three senatorial districts.
