Ondo Deputy Governor Advocates Skills Training for Inmates

On Saturday, during a visit to the Olokuta Medium Security Correctional Centre in Akure, Ondo State, Olayide Adelami, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prison Fellowship Nigeria, advised inmates to focus on acquiring vocational and educational skills. He encouraged them to prepare for a productive future and to seek spiritual support.

Adelami interacted with the inmates, providing encouragement and welfare assistance, including foodstuffs. He urged the inmates to strengthen their faith and utilize the opportunities available within the correctional facility to become self-reliant upon their release.

He stated, “Do not allow the mistakes of your past to define your future; let them become lessons that will guide you towards a better life.” Adelami emphasized that vocational and educational training is crucial for successful reintegration into society and urged inmates to take their rehabilitation seriously.
