Ondo State Government Rehabilitates Students After WASSCE

The Ondo State Government has rehabilitated students from Oyemekun Grammar School and Aquinas College, Akure, who were involved in inappropriate jubilation after completing their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This initiative was announced by Bisi Lawani, Press Officer of the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The rehabilitation program, conducted during the holiday, was a collaborative effort involving the Nigerian Correctional Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and the Ondo State Neuro-Psychiatric Specialist Hospital. Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, stated that the program aimed to correct negative behaviors and promote responsible conduct among students.
He emphasized that the government opted for rehabilitation over punitive measures to protect the students' futures. The students' names have been removed from the Black Book, and their withheld WASSCE certificates will be released.
The ministry will continue to monitor the rehabilitated students to ensure sustained positive changes.
